Google Doodle

About Topic

Search engine Google commemorates various events, holidays, anniversaries, and lives of famous personalities by reworking the Google logo on the homepage with original doodles. The practice started off in 2000, when its founders asked Dennis Hwang, an intern at the time, to produce a doodle for Bastille Day. The users' response to it prompted them to appoint Mr. Hwang as Google's chief doodler. Years passed, and now, a team of illustrators and engineers put their heads together to come up with creative and often interactive region-specific doodles. If you have an idea for one, email it to the team at doodleproposals@google.com
