A 10-year-old boy and his mother were killed when an RTC bus hit them from behind at the Ashoka junction in Hanamkonda on Sunday.
The deceased were identified as Namani Rajitha (35) and Ruthvik (10).
The mother and son came to Hanamkonda chowrastha for shopping and were crossing the road at the junction. An RTC bus which came from behind hit them and ran over both of them. While the boy died on the spot, his mother received severe injuries. She died while being shifted to the MGM hospital.
The police said the accident took place because of the negligence of the RTC driver, who was taken into custody.
