Unruly scenes mar RBI's win

BANGALORE, JULY 24. Unruly scenes and scuffles marred the Deccan Herald State `A' division hockey league, in progress at the KSHA Stadium here on Saturday.

In a clash between banks, RBI scored a 3-2 victory but suffered the ignominy of having its two players — Tanu Nanjappa and Roshan — troop off after umpire Nazeeruddin flashed the red card in the 20th minute. Kevin scored a hat-trick (12th, 33rd and 56th minutes) to help RBI nudge past SBI. Nanaiah and Santosh scored the consolation goals for SBI.

Earlier, another match that had its share of player-trouble was the 1-1 drawn encounter between ASC `B' and RWF, in which the former team's Tobias Lakra and Harvinder Singh earned yellow cards. Harvinder was also suspended from the next match.

In another match, Postal, riding high on Prakash Chalke's four goals including a hat-trick (43rd, 45th and 48th minutes), defeated Rainbow HC 6-5. Nagaraj and Uthappa also scored for the victors. Mahendran (3), Nandakumar and Ronald were the scorers for Rainbow HC.
