Former Indian speedster L. Balaji along with former Indian middle order batsman S. Badrinath were all praise for the growth of TNPL in the last two seasons.
Speaking here ahead of the third edition of the TNPL which commences on July 11 at Tirunelveli, L. Balaji was gung-ho about the tournament.
Calling it a stepping stone for district players to represent the Tamil Nadu, L. Balaji believed that raw talent will be unearthed as the tournament spreads to various districts.
“'With lot of matches being played in Dindigul and Tirunelveli it will be a great boost to the district players'' L. Balaji felt.
Former India middle order batsman and the current coach of the IDREAM Karaikudi Kaalai team S. Badrinath said “The district players will have to handle the pressure of playing under lights in front of huge crowds. The live telecast will help their good performances get a huge reach.”
According to media manager of the TNPL, R.N. Baba, Indian internationals, R. Ashwin and Murali Vijay have confirmed their participation for the first few matches of the TNPL while Dinesh Karthik and Vijay Shankar will be taking part in the second half.
Washington Sundar meanwhile has been ruled out due to a ankle injury.
