Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam in last four



KOCHI: Despite winning the State junior crown recently, P.C. Thulasi could not help Thrissur enter the last four of the girls' section of the MAK Lubricants Kerala State sub-junior badminton championship here on Friday.

The former U-13 National champion won her opening singles but lost the doubles tie with Kavitha, as Thiruvananthapuram won 2-1.

Thiruvananthapuram will meet Kozhikode while host Ernakulam will take on Alappuzha in the semifinals.

In the boys' section, defending champion Kozhikode will meet Ernakulam while Thrissur plays Thiruvananthapuram.

KFA picks 36 for camp

The Kerala Football Association has selected 36 players for the under-16 State coaching camp for the National sub-junior championship. The camp will be held at the Sree Kerala Varma College Ground, Thrissur, from August 22 to September 2.
