NEW DELHI: Rohan Bopanna beat the third-seeded Adam Feeney of Australia 6-3, 6-2 in the third and final qualifying round to make the main draw of the $25,000 Challenger tennis tournament on grass in Nottingham.

The 381st ranked Bopanna will challenge the 90th ranked top seed Marcos Baghdatis of Cyprus in the first round.

Bopanna, however, was not able to make it into the doubles draw as he, in partnership with Marcus Sarstrand of Sweden, lost 6-7 (5), 6-4, 6-7 (4) to the top-seeded Adam Feeney of Australia and Travis Rettenmaier of the US in the first qualifying round.

The other Indian in the final round of the singles qualifying event, Sunil Kumar went down 4-6, 5-7 to the seventh-seeded Frank Moser of Germany. Moser had earlier beaten Mustafa Ghouse 7-6 (3), 5-7, 6-3 in the second round.

Sunil Kumar entered the doubles main draw with Frederik Nielsen of Denmark while Mustafa Ghouse has been seeded fourth with Harsh Mankad. Prakash Amritraj plays with Luke Bourgeois of Australia.

In the singles main draw, the 241st ranked Harsh plays David Sherwood of Britain while the 256th ranked Prakash will take on qualifier Travis Rettenmaier.
