Pakistan takes lead

Harare Nov. 10 . Pakistan was 74 in the lead with nine second innings wickets standing at the close of the second day of the first cricket Test against Zimbabwe here on Sunday.

Making 285 in its first innings, Pakistan bowled Zimbabwe out for 225, a lead of 60. But it lost Saleem Elahi for a duck in its second innings just before the umpires called off play for bad light and is 14 for 1.

Pakistan pacemen Shoaib Akhtar, Waqar Younis and Mohammad Sami ripped through the Zimbabwe top order.

The home side was 43 for three as Dion Ebrahim, Hamilton Masakadza and Alistair Campbell heralded a collapse with their dismissals.

The Flower brothers Grant and Andy made 31 and 29 respectively to put the brakes on Pakistan.
