One-sided games on day one

NEW DELHI: One-sided matches featured the opening day of the World Railway badminton championship at the Siri Fort indoor stadium here on Monday. India blanked Switzerland 11-0 while Russia and Britain scored similar victories over Belgium and Czech Republic in the preliminary league matches.

Each tie involves two mixed doubles, four men's singles, two women's singles, two men's doubles and one women's doubles. Eleven matches are gone through in all ties irrespective of any team gaining a winning lead.
