Not so lucky venue for Kiwis

** Auckland, the largest city in New Zealand, is located at the northern end of the North Island.

** Eden Park became a first-class ground in 1914 and has hosted over 230 matches so far. It turned into a Test centre in February 1930 and hosted its first LOI match on February 22, 1976, when the Kiwis played India. The home team won by 80 runs.

** So far, 45 LOI games have been played here with New Zealand clinching 21 ties and losing 22. The home side has lost its last four matches here. India has figured in four matches here, losing the first two (in 1976 by 80 runs and in 1981 by 78 runs) and winning the next two (in 1994 by seven wickets and in 1999 by five wickets).

** New Zealand's 304-5 against Sri Lanka on 20-3-1983 is the highest score and the home team's 110 versus Pakistan on 6-3-1994 the lowest.

** 15 hundreds have been scored here, Martin Crowe and Nathan

Astle making two each. Glenn Turner's 140 against Sri Lanka on 20-3-1983 is the highest individual score.

** Sachin Tendulkar's 82 (off 49 balls) on 27-3-1994 is the highest by an Indian. Pakistani pacemen Waqar Younis (6-30 on 13-3-1994) and Shoaib Akhtar(5-19 on 18-2-2001) have the best bowling figures here.

** Interestingly, no spin bowler has managed to take four wickets at this venue, with 13 such hauls for pace bowlers.
