Four new meet records marked the final day of the Calicut University inter-collegiate athletics championship here on Thursday. The record-breakers were P.K. Mohammed Rashid (men’s 800m), A. Aneesh (men’s 20 km walk), Maymon Poulose (men’s 110m hurdles), who erased his own record, and Jisna Mathew (women’s 200m).

The earlier records belonged to Lijo Mani of EMEA, Kondotty (men’s 800m), M. Renjith of Govt. College, Chittur (men’s 20 km walk) and V. Santhini of Mercy (women’s 200m).

The men’s team championship was won by Christ College, Irinjalakuda, with 100 points, ahead of Sree Krishna, Guruvayur (37) and St. Thomas, Thrissur (14).

In the women’s section, Mercy emerged the champion, with 52 points, while Christ (41) was second and Teaching Dept., Calicut University (36) third.
