Indians bow out

ATHENS, AUG. 21. The Indian men lost 236-248 to the second-ranked Australia in the pre-quarterfinals of the men's archery competition at the Panathinaiko Stadium here on Saturday.

David Barnes' 86, with five 10s with his last five arrows, took care of the eighth-ranked India's challenge. Tim Cuddihy (80) and Simon Fairweather (82) were the other members of the Australian team.

For India, Tarundeep Rai put up the best show with an 81 while Majhi Sawaiyan (78) and Satyadev Prasad (77) had rounds of 24 and 23 respectively, which ruined the team's chances.
