Gaurav stars in Punjab Colts' win

CHENNAI, AUG. 21. Gaurav Gupta with an unbeaten 128 (112b, 171m, 3x6, 10x4) masterminded Punjab Colts' one-wicket win over CAB President's XI with just four balls to spare in the Sahara-Buchi Babu all-India invitation cricket tournament here on Saturday.

The win, its second in the league, makes Punjab Colts the first team to enter the semifinal as `B' zone topper. Though medium-pacer Sabir Ali did his bit (six wickets), Gupta and the Colts could not be denied the victory.

From 37 for three, Gupta rallied with support from the lower order. Credit has to go to Uday Kunal (29) who gave Gupta support with a 77-run stand for the fifth wicket, which made the win possible in the day's final over.
