`Form will decide opening combination'

Mumbai: The form of the day will decide whether batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar or skipper Sourav Ganguly will open with Virender Sehwag in the Asia Cup cricket tournament to be held in Sri Lanka, the captain of the Indian team said.

Ganguly had a word of caution for the Indians to avoid a repeat of the performance one got to see against New Zealand at home because of the time gap.

Asked about the ideal opening combination for one-day matches, Ganguly told NDTV that, ``it could be between Sachin, Sehwag and myself. I have played at the top in one-day cricket for sometime.''

``We will work on this consideration or on the form. Sehwag stands well at the top as well. So whosoever is in good form at that stage will do that job,'' he said.

Replying to a question he ruled out Yuvraj Singh coming as an opener. — PTI
