East Bengal, winner of the quarterfinal group league played at Siliguri, performed true to its fame beating Ever-Ready, an upcoming team local team coached by veteran Amal Dutta, all ends up.

Despite seeing a few of its regulars rested owing to injuries, East Bengal overcame the challenge with ease scoring once in each session.

Brazilian Douglas Da Silva opened the scoring availing a set-piece situation as he utilised his height heading home a measured corner by Bijen Singh in the 29th minute of the match. Keeping up the tempo, East Bengal created more openings but failed to find the mark as the forwards could not find the proper finishing.

Roy, latching on to a Malswamtulunga provision, gave a fine show of footwork as he dribbled past a couple of Ever-Ready defenders and finished with an angular shot past the opposition custodian Kalyan Choubey.
