Dalmiya quits ACC, AACC posts

Kolkata: Former Board of Control for Cricket in India president Jagmohan Dalmiya tendered his resignation "with immediate effect" from the position of the President of Asian Cricket Council (ACC) and from that of the Afro-Asian Cricket Cooperation (AACC).

In a letter addressed to Sharad Pawar, the newly elected president of the BCCI, late on Friday evening, Mr Dalmiya said, "I had the privilege of being the president of the ACC from 2001-02 and the president of the AACC from 2004-05. I was in fact the first president of the AACC being elected unanimously."

"In the wake of the recent changes in the BCCI, I feel that it is only appropriate that I tender my resignation with immediate effect from both the positions," he said.. — UNI
