ATP, Mercedes extend partnership

BANGALORE, March 29. The Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) and Mercedes Benz have extended their sports marketing partnership by another three years, up to 2005, according to an ATP media release.

The accord was signed last week by the Head of Communications, Mercedes Benz, Burgard Graf Vizthum, and the CEO of ATP, Mark Miles. The partnership began in 1996 and was extended by four years in 1999.

Under the terms, Mercedes Benz, the German automobile giant, will continue to be the main sponsor for the Tennis Masters Cup and as the official automobile for 40 ATP events, Mercedes Benz will provide the transportation and hold the rights for display of its cars at tournament sites. Mercedes will also have the right to display the Tristar emblem on the nets used in ATP tournaments.
