India’s Arjun Maini qualified third for the feature race in the GP3 championship here on Friday.
Impressive show
The teenager, who became the first Indian to win a GP3 race when he took the sprint race in Barcelona, came up with an impressive performance to qualify behind pole-sitter George Russell and Nirei Fukuzimi.
Driving for Jenzer Motorsport, the Bengaluru-based racer was six-tenths shy off Russell and 0.4 tenths of Fukuzimi with a best time of 2:27.741.
The first race of the weekend will be held on Saturday evening with the reverse-grid sprint race on Sunday.
Maini, a developmental driver with Haas F1 team, is currently eighth in the championship with 37 points, 55 behind leader Russell.
