Udhav, Ashray knocked out

KOLKATA: The third-seeded Udhav Gupta and sixth-seeded Ashray Bhasin were upset in the boys’ singles under-18 category of the Calcutta Punjab Club BTA junior tennis meet here on Tuesday.

Udhav was ousted by Josh Prakash Majamdar 6-8 in a best-of-15 games encounter, errors at crucial junctures and the latter’s growing confidence resulting in the verdict.

Ashray was 4-2 up against the unseeded Abhijit Hait, but went down 5-8 with some inconsistent tennis.
