Sunfeast World 10k run

Bangalore: Leading long distance runners, ranging from Kenya’s Grace Momanyi, defending champion in the women’s section to Rwanda’s Dieudonne Disi in the men’s section — who won the Delhi Half Marathon in 2007 — are part of a 40-strong International contingent that will compete for a share of the $155,000 prize money in the Sunfeast World 10k run here on May 31.

The event has logged in more than 15,000 entries and registrations, both online as well as on-the-spot, are still open.

More top runners are expected and talks are on with the defending champion in the men’s section — Eritrea’s Zersenay Tadesse — though he is yet to confirm his participation.

The organisers are also hoping that the 10km event will also spin off extra funds for the clutch of charity institutions associated with the event.
