NEW DELHI: Qualifier Samriti defeated fourth seed Shweta Sangwan 6-4, 6-4 in the under-14 girls' quarterfinals of the AITA Championship Series junior tennis tournament, organised by the Pro Tennis Academy, at the Vasant Kunj Sports Complex here on Wednesday. She will face the top-seeded Ojasvanee Singh in the semifinals.
The results (quarterfinals): Under-14 boys: Sumit Nangal bt Sahil Sachdeva 6-4, 6-2; Shailender Boniface bt Vishu Prasad 6-1, 6-1; Naveen Anand bt Nazim Dhawla 6-1, 6-3; Tejas Kapoor bt Prashant Chaudhary 6-0, 6-3.
Under-14 girls: Ojasvanee Singh bt Jhanvi Gupta 6-1, 6-2; Samriti bt Shweta Sangwan 6-4, 6-4; Karman Kaur bt Medha Toor 6-4, 6-3; Vasundhra Raju bt Monalisa Chakraborty 6-2, 6-2 .
