Pritam wins title

BANGALORE: Pritam Haridass with a two-day cumulative score of 137 (67, 70) won the ‘A’ category title in the BGC-South Zone junior golf tournament played over Wednesday and Thursday at the BGC. Mysore’s Shushruth Venkatesh (144) was the runner-up and Chennai’s Tarun Venkatesh (145) finished third.

In ‘B’ category, Sarhan Italia (155) was the winner while Namith Gambhir (157) and Yashash Chandra (158) were second and third respectively. The ‘C’ category title was decided by a play-off (held on the 15th hole) after Akshath Vidyanath and Shivnaren Shrinivasan ended with a tied score of 162 each.

Akshatha made a par on the 15th while Shivnaren made a bogey to end up in the second spot. S. Siddarth (164) was third.

In ‘D’ category, Aditi Ashok (178) romped home winning by 15 strokes from K. Siddharth (193). Vrushank Balu (205) bagged the third spot. This was the third leg of the South Zone junior golf tournament with the Udagamandalam and Kodagu editions having been completed.

The juniors will play the final leg of the tournament at KGA here on Friday and Saturday. — Special Correspondent
