MOP Vaishnav wins overall title

CHENNAI: The MOP Vaishnav College won the overall rolling trophy in the Chaitanya inter-Collegiate fest tournament, organised by the Sri Kanyaka Parameshwari College for women, here recently.

The college won the table tennis, handball and volleyball events.

The results (all finals): Table tennis: MOP bt Stella Maris 3-1; Handball: MOP bt Kanyaka Parameshwari 13-4; Volleyball: MOP bt JBAS College 25-13, 25-15.

Qualifiers spotted

The qualifiers in both the boys’ and girls’ under-14 sections were identified on Sunday at the end of the final round of the qualifying phase in the BSNL junior tennis tournament, being organised by the Krishnan Tennis Centre here.

Five-a-side football

The ‘F4-Football Academy’, a body promoted by the old students of Madras Christian College HSS, is organising a one-day ‘five-a-side’ football festival at the school premises on February 14.
