Cape Cobras team arrives

Bangalore: After a long haul flight from South Africa, Cape Cobras’ players are hoping to quickly adjust to the Indian conditions in a series of practice games ahead of their Airtel Champions League opener against Royal Challengers Bangalore here on October 8.

Just minutes after checking into the team hotel on Saturday night, the team think-tank led by captain Andrew Puttick and coach Conrad Shukri spoke to the media.

Puttick said that adapting to the conditions would be the key factor. “We have some players who have been here while a majority haven’t been here and the quicker we adapt the better it is.

“We have had some practice through four-day games in our first-class season back home though our Twenty20 preparation is not what we would have ideally hoped for but we will make up for it in the next few days,” Puttick said. — Principal Correspondent
