C.H. Arjun recorded a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Dev Utiah in the final of the AITA prize money tennis tournament held at the Energy Tennis Centre on Friday.

In the women’s section, Nithyaraj Babura clinched a memorable double.

The results (finals): Men: Singles: C.H. Arjun bt Dev Utiah 6-2, 6-3. Doubles: Alok Aradhya & Naesar Jewoor bt Varun Venkat & Sai Pranav Ponaka 2-6, 6-4, 10-7.

Women: Singles: Nithyaraj Babura bt Muskaan Ranjan 6-1, 7-5. Doubles: Nithyaraj Baburaj & R. Tanisha bt Sansriti Ranjan & Muskaan Ranjan 6-3, 6-4.

Kovalam FC posted a thumping 7-1 win over Boca Juniors in the KSFA-Inventure Academy under-15 football league here.

Six golfers qualify

for National final

Six golfers — Sujit Somasundar and Peter Prem (day 1 winners), Vinay Sal and Sanjay Sanghani (day 2), and H.B. Rajugowda and Venkat Suri (day 3) — emerged on top in the Bengaluru leg of the Mercedes Trophy golf tournament held at the Prestige Golfshire course here.

The six have qualified for the 16th Mercedes Trophy National final, which will be held at Pune in March.

More than 300 golfers took part in the three-day Bengaluru leg.
