Aamer injured

Karachi: Pakistan suffered a major setback in the ongoing Australia tour after young left-arm pacer Mohammad Aamer was rendered uncertain for the remainder of the series due to a recurrence of a groin problem.

Pakistan coach Intikhab Alam said Aamer had aggravated his groin problem during the second ODI in Sydney, and is unlikely to take part anymore in the series that ends on February 5 with the lone Twenty20 International.

Intikhab said Aamer had torn a muscle in his groin, the same problem which had kept him out of the second Test in Sydney which Pakistan lost.

“We will get the MRI report soon and will then know the extent of the injury, but it does not look good,” the coach said.— PTI
