NEW DELHI: A sea of security people have taken charge at the Ferozeshah Kotla stadium, the venue of the high-profile one-dayer between India and Pakistan on April 17.

The visiting captain, Inzamam-ul-Haq, the ICC Match Referee, Chris Broad, the umpire, Rudy Koertzen, and mediapersons got a taste of the safety measures in place, on April 16. Inzamam, who came to inspect the pitch along with Rahul Dravid, was stopped at the gate before he was eventually let in, the Pakistan local manager, Ashok Vaswani, said. The local media found it next to impossible to enter the stadium, leading to altercations. Broad and Koertzen were also prevented from entering by the stadium. — UNI
