Venkaiah's invitation to Muslims

VIDISHA (M.P.), MARCH 3. The Bharatiya Janata Party has extended "an open invitation" to Muslims to join its ranks.

Addressing a party workers' convention here on Tuesday, the BJP president, M. Venkaiah Naidu, said: "For 50 years, the community was with the Congress. But during the Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee's tenure, Muslims adorned high offices. Therefore, it's wrong to accuse the BJP of being anti-minority."

At another party meeting in Bhopal, he said the BJP campaign would be "decent, positive and development-oriented."
