UNEP award for Indian environmentalist

NEW DELHI OCT. 31. Noted environmentalist Ashok Khosla has won the prestigious U.N. Environment Programme (UNEP)'s "Sasakawa Environment Prize" for 2002 in recognition of his contribution to management and protection of environment.

Dr. Khosla, who is president of Development Alternatives, India's premier environment and development agency, has been working among the rural poor and has spent much time for environmental causes globally.
