NEW DELHI: Buoyed by the open support extended by the BJP to a Bill for the formation of a separate State, the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) said the declaration almost cleared the way for it.

"We wanted the BJP to support it and now party president Rajnath Singh has made his stand clear. With this, almost all political parties in the country have agreed for Telangana and we will move smoothly towards it," TRS chief and Union Minister K. Chandrasekhara Rao told a press conference.

Mr. Rao said the TRS representatives would meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Defence Minister Pranab Mukherjee and urge them to initiate the process of Telangana formation as 450 Members of Parliament favoured it.

The TRS chief said during the Hyderabad Plenary session of the Congress, Mr. Mukherjee said that since the BJP had not given its views, his committee could not finalise its report.
