Water released from Kadem

Water was released from Kadem project on Sunday as the reservoir received good inflows during the previous night and in the evening.

The Irrigation Engineers were maintaining the level of water just under 698 ft as against the full reservoir level of 700 ft.

One gate was first lifted at 1.15 a.m. to discharge a surplus of nearly 8,500 cusecs and the release continued until 11 a.m.

As much as 6,242 cusecs of water was discharged again at 5.10 p.m. by lifting a gate to a height of 5 feet and the release continued till late in the night on Sunday though the inflows were seemingly tapering off.
