New zonal system gets Centre’s nod

In respect of the police department, Multi-zone I would have police districts/commissionerates under Kaleshwaram, Basara, Rajanna and Bhadradri zones and Multi-zone II would cover Yadadri, Charminar and Jogulamba districts. The seven-page gazette has clearly defined the local cadre and local areas with each district, zone and multi-zone specified as local area for local candidates who would be persons studied in educational institutions in that particular local area for a period of not less than four consecutive years ending with the academic year in which he appeared or as the case may be, first appeared for the relevant qualifying examination.

The qualifying examination has also been defined as the examination, a pass in which is the minimum educational qualification prescribed for the respective post or seventh class examination or an examination declared by the State government to be equivalent to the seventh class examination. The order also paves the way for carrying forward of the reserved posts for a period of three years if qualified local candidate was not available in the local area.
