‘Land grabbers’ cautioned

A wall poster warning eight persons, including a few local ‘TRS sympathisers’, against indulging in “illegal sand transportation and land grabbing” activities has surfaced in the name of CPI (Maoist) Charla-Dummugudem Area Committee in Vijayanagaram village in Manuguru mandal on Thursday.

The poster purportedly written by the rebels sprang up on the wall of a local school on Thursday morning, sources said. The incident created a flutter among villagers. The poster contained allegations that some local TRS supporters were acting hand in glove with landlords and undermining the interests of small and marginal farmers. The committee, through the poster, demanded that the ‘Operation Green Hunt” and alleged ‘persecution’ of tribals and Dalits be stopped forthwith. Police sources said that the wall poster was seized and a detailed investigation into the incident was underway. Police suspect that it might be the handiwork of some ‘vested elements’ due to “personal enmity” with the persons named in the poster.
