Hike minimum wages: BJP

The trade union wing of State BJP has submitted a memorandum to Home and Labour Minister N. Narasimha Reddy seeking a minimum wage of Rs 15,000 a month for workers in the unorganised sector.

The revision of minimum wage in the sector was due every two years but the previous governments enhanced the period to five years. Yet, the wage was not hiked in the last nine years, it said.
