The damp weather did not deter candidates from taking the physical endurance test for the post of Forest Beat Officers, the exercise being in its last leg, at the local aerodrome ground on Sunday. The Forest Department is conducting 25-km and 16-km walk for men and women respectively who have qualified the written examination held last year.

The Telangana State Public Service Commission has selected candidates in the ratio of 1:3 across the State for 1,853 posts of FBOs. The erstwhile undivided Adilabad has been allotted 463 posts and the tests are being conducted at Adilabad and Mancherial towns.

Adilabad Forest Divisional Officer V. Chandra Shekhara Rao told The Hindu that the tests commenced on July 2 and would end on July 10. As many as 400 men and 216 women are taking the physical endurance test in Adilabad, while 411 men and 260 women are appearing for the same at Mancherial.
