The accused officer was caught red-handed at a hotel near Kothakota, nearly 140 kms from here. The complainant G. Pradeep purchased an agricultural land in Kothakota mandal.

Recently, the neighbouring land owners lodged a complaint with the Tahsildar accusing the complainant of damaging the bund of a near-by tank. According to a press release from ACB, the Tahsildar demanded a bribe not to initiate any action against Pradeep.

The arrested officer would be presented before a special court in Hyderabad. ACB officials appealed to people to contact toll free number of 1064 to lodge complaints about corrupt employees of State government.
