Woman stabbed to death

BANGALORE OCT. 31. Two youths, who stabbed a woman to death at her house in Banashankari Police Station limits, were nabbed on Thursday. According to police, the accused came to the house of Govind Reddy at Bhavaninagar 3rd Cross in Banashankari III Stage around 10 a.m.

Mr. Reddy's wife, Seethamma (45), was alone in the house. The two asked her whether a room was available for rent in the premises. They then asked for water. When Seethamma went inside, the youths latched the door from inside. They dragged Seethamma to the bathroom and stabbed her in the neck and stomach. As Seethamma cried for help, public bolted the door of her house from outside and informed the police. The Banashankari Police rushed to the spot and caught hold of the two youths. Seethamma was shifted to Sagar Apollo Hospital, where she died. A post-mortem was conducted at Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences. The two youths have been identified as C.Chandru, alias Lokesh and Putterevegowda of Ramanagara in Bangalore Rural District. While the motive for the murder is not known, police suspect that the two might have been hired by Mr. Reddy's neighbours, who were not on good terms with him, to murder Seethamma. The Deputy Commissioner of Police (South), T. Suneel Kumar, said that nothing was stolen from the house. The Commissioner of Police, M.D.Singh, visited the spot.
