IT employee commits suicide

A 27-year-old woman working in an IT firm committed suicide by jumping from the 9th floor of her office at Thoraipakkam.

The victim has been identified as R. Priyanka, hailing from Andhra Pradesh. She was staying in Avadi. The reason behind her decision was not immediately known as she did not leave any note. The CCTV footage captured her jumping from the 9th floor of the building at 4.45 p.m. She died on the spot. Her colleagues alerted the police.

The Thoraipakkam police rushed to the spot and conducted an investigation. Her body was sent to the Government Hospital for post-mortem.

According to sources, she was engaged a few days ago. Before jumping from the building, she called her aunt in her hometown and told her that she was going to surprise everyone shortly, police said.
