Isolated heavy rain in north T.N.

CHENNAI: Yesterday's depression over Southwest Bay has weakened into a low pressure area and lies over southwest and adjoining Westcentral Bay and adjoining areas of north coastal Tamil Nadu and south coastal Andhra Pradesh.

Northeast Monsoon has been vigorous over north coastal Tamil Nadu.

Rainfall occurred at many places over north coastal Tamil Nadu, Rayalaseema and at a few places over north interior Tamil Nadu and coastal Andhra Pradesh. Isolated rainfall occurred over south Tamil Nadu, Kerala and south interior Karnataka.

Mainly dry weather prevailed over Lakshadweep and dry weather prevailed over Telangana and coastal and north interior Karnataka.

Forecast (Valid until Monday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at most places over north Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, south coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema, at many places over south interior Karnataka and at a few places over south Tamil Nadu, Kerala and coastal Karnataka. Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over north coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and north interior Karnataka.

Heavy Rainfall Warning: Isolated heavy to very heavy rain is likely to occur over Chennai, Kanchipuram, Tiruvallur, Vellore, Tiruvannamalai, Dharmapuri and Villupuram districts of north Tamil Nadu, Rayalaseema and south coastal Andhra Pradesh during the next 48 hours.

Isolated heavy rain is also likely to occur over remaining districts of north Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry.
