Two ryots commit suicide

WARANGAL OCT. 5. A farmer in Chalvai village of Govindaraopet mandal, A. Veera Reddy (50), has committed suicide by consuming poison after having failed to get power connection to his agriculture field.

According to the villagers, he had paid Rs. 4,000 towards the power connection charges, but the AP Transco officials failed to provide the required connection.

Of the total seven acres, the crop in three acres withered away as he could not wet the crop. Before consuming poison on Saturday, he reportedly threatened the AP Transco officials.

According to a Kurnool report, a farmer, identified as M. Anjaneyulu of Chinna Tekur under the Ulindakonda police station limits in Kurnool district, committed suicide due to financial troubles.

Mr. Anjaneyulu, who borrowed Rs. 45,000 for raising crops, lost heavily. He consumed pesticide on October 1 and was rushed to hospital. He died today.
