Two held in murder case

The police on Thursday cracked the murder case of a petrol bunk owner by arresting two suspects within 24 hours of the crime.

One Sathmeegaseelan (40) of Piprappanvalasai was murdered at Karan by a gang when he was returning home with a cash of Rs.56000. The case was reported at around 3 a.m. on Wednesday.

The police team found that his two-wheeler was hit by a vehicle. It came to a conclusion that the assailants might have come to the spot by a car. The accused were identified thereafter.

The Deputy Inspector General of Police Sandeep Mittal and the Superintendent of Police, Kaliraj S. Mahesh Kumar told reporters at Uchipuli police station that G. Sivakumar (23) of Pudumadam and T. Ramalingam (27) of Surankattu Valasai were arrested. A few more persons might have been involved in the case. It was said the suspects had followed the victim for the last few days to understand his route so as to execute their plan. They killed him with the motive of lifting the cash collected from his petrol bunk.
