S. Arunkumar (15), sustained 30% burns, his friend, S. Prathiban (14) got 60% burns while playing with garbage in which wastes from some fireworks units were illegally dumped in a channel here on Sunday.
They have been admitted to the Government Hospital here.
The police said that the boys were caught in a ball of fire on the Karuthoorani channel along Meenampatti-Narnapuram road. The Sivakasi east police are investigating.
