Traffic regulations for New Year-eve

BANGALORE, DEC. 30. In view of the New Year Eve celebrations, the City Police have imposed certain restrictions on vehicular traffic on M.G.Road, Brigade Road, Residency Road, St. Mark's Road and Church Street.

As per the regulations issued by the City Police Commissioner, Mr. H.T.Sangliana, there will be no entry of vehicles except police vehicles and those of essential services on duty, from any direction on selected roads in the vicinity of M.G.Road. The regulations will be effective from 6.30 p.m. on Monday to 5 a.m. the next day.

The roads are: M.G.Road from Oriental Junction up to the junction with Residency Road near Mayo Hall; Brigade Road from Arts and Crafts Junction up to the Opera Junction; Church Street from its junction on Brigade Road to its junction on Museum Road; Museum Road from its junction with M.G.Road up to its junction with Madras Bank Road; Rest House Road from its junction on Museum Road up to its junction on Brigade Road and Kamaraj Road from Cauvery Emporium Junction to Cubbon Road Junction.

Parking of all types of vehicles except police vehicles and vehicles of essential services on duty will be prohibited from 6.30 p.m. on Monday to 3 a.m. the next day on the following roads:

M.G.Road from Oriental Junction up to its junction with Residency Road near Mayo Hall; Brigade Road from Arts and Crafts Junction up to Opera Junction; Church Street from its junction with Brigade Road up to its junction on St. Mark's Road; Residency Road from its junction on M.G.Road near Mayo Hall up to Prof. Ashirvadam Circle; St. Mark's Road from its junction on M.G.Road up to its junction on Madras Bank Road; Rest House Road from its junction on Brigade Road up to its junction on Museum Road; Museum Road from its junction on M.G.Road up to its junction on Madras Bank Road and Kamaraj Road from Cauvery Emporium Junction to Cubbon Road Junction.

Vehicles parked on M.G.Road, Brigade Road, Rest House Road, Church Street, Residency Road and St. Mark's Road should be removed by their owners or drivers before 6.30 p.m. on Monday, failing which they would be towed away by the police and fined, the release said.

After 6.30 p.m. on Monday, vehicles coming from Queen's Statue Junction on M.G.Road and proceeding towards Ulsoor and beyond will have to turn left at Oriental Circle, enter Central Street, turn right into Cubbon Road and proceed on the same road to join M.G.Road near Webb's Junction.

Vehicles proceeding from Ulsoor to Majestic Circle, Jayanagar and other places on M.G.Road will have to turn left near Mayo Hall and enter Residency Road. Vehicles going towards Cantonment areas from Ulsoor on M.G.Road will have to turn right near Webb's Junction, enter Dickenson Road, turn left on Cubbon Road and proceed further. Parking of vehicles is allowed on the southern side of Cubbon Road and on both sides of Kamaraj Road.
