HYDERABAD: A specially crafted silk sari that mixes traditional hand-woven artistry with cutting edge technology enmeshed with over an astounding 1.25 lakh colours by the famous silk saris maker, RMKV, will be the special feature of the four-day `The Hindu-Eenadu' Lifestyle Show 2005, starting on Friday next.

The inaugural show at Hyderabad to be staged at the Hitex Grounds in Madhapur between December 9 and 12 will be presented by Samsung. It will have over 200 stalls showcasing a wide range of consumer and lifestyle goods of national and international brands. Mr. Vishwanathan of RMKV told a press conference here on Saturday that the special sari to be unveiled and exhibited at the venue has been specially crafted for the show and "anyone who can give the precise or close to precise number of colours woven into it can walk away with it for free". He keeps the price of the sari in suspense but gives a big clue stating it each colour would cost a rupee! RMKV's thematic silk saris mixing traditional motifs with modern design were well accepted, said Mr. Vishwanathan.

L.V. Navaneeth, General Manager, Advertising and Marketing, The Hindu, said the Lifestyle show was started in Chennai two years ago and the response was "very encouraging." The newspaper was organising many interactive events such as the Opportunities Fair, pre-counselling workshop for professional courses, Music festivals and the likes to get close to the readers and the advertisers as well. The other sponsors include Siemens, Aqua Fina Indulge and ETV2.
