Tasmai, a Centre for Art and Culture in Puducherry, in collaboration with Sahapedia, an open online resource on arts, culture and heritage of India, is organising a heritage walk on Sunday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The free guided tour will assist the participants explore the lives of lives of prodigious writer, patriot, poet Subramaniya Bharathi, who not just enriched the city but inspired another poet Kanaga Subburathinam who took the nom de plume Bharathidasan.
The participants will be taken to the renovated heritage building in Easwaran Koil Street that houses the Mahakavi Bharathiyar Memorial and to Perumal Koil Street where the Bharathidasan resided.
"A visit to the museum will throw light on the activities of Bharathi in Pondicherry. The museum has a large collection of archives relating to the life of Bharathi. Recollecting Bharathi, enjoying the ambience, remembering his extraordinary life and above all connecting him to contemporary art, poetry, music and cinema should be an engaging process," said Kirti Chandak of Tasmai. She added that those interested could complete the mandatory online registration that closes after 25 entries.
The participants are expected to meet outside Romain Rolland Library at 3.45 p.m.
