TAHDCO chairperson's directive to banks

NAMAKKAL: Chairperson of the Tamil Nadu Adi Dravida Housing and Development Corporation (TAHDCO) V. Saroja asked the bankers to speed up the distribution of loans to the Adi Dravida people under TAHDCO schemes.

Participating at a review meeting here on Wednesday, she said the district had provided loan assistance to the Adi Dravida people under the TAHDCO schemes to the tune of Rs. 1.16 crores this year so far against the target of Rs. 1.81 crores.

Bankers should take steps to process the loan applications fast and achieve the target.

She said the State Government had planned to form Self-Help Groups among sanitary workers employed in the municipalities and panchayats and provide funds to the groups to develop their socio-economic conditions.

Collector V.M. Xavier Chrisso Nayagam, Project Officer District Rural Development Agency, K. Meharaj, Lead District Manager, Uthamalingam and Assistance General Manager of National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development, Jayakannan and bank officials were present.
