Social security number for employees

ERODE, JUNE 1. As part of its project `Reinventing EPF India', the Employees' Provident Fund (EPF) organisation has begun allotting National Social Security Number (NSSN) to all its members.

It was decided to complete the allotment by September 2004, according to a press release by the Regional Provident Fund Commissioner-II, Maruti Bhoyi, today.

Accordingly, this exercise has been launched at the Regional Office, Salem covering Salem, Namakkal, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri and Erode districts.

The NSSN is unique and permanent. It remains the same throughout one's lifetime and all over India.

The press release stated that for any enquiry regarding the NSSN, the public could contact 0427-2332041 and 2332042, the Inspectorate, Regional Office, Salem.
