Saudi blasts

Sir, — The frequent blasts in the Saudi capital of Riyadh are an ominous harbinger of the feelings of the common Arabs against the ruling establishment. They are frustrated that Palestine is not becoming a reality and the situation in West Asia is going from bad to worse. It is also becoming clear that the U.S. attacked Iraq without any justification. Another reason for the worsening security situation is the Taliban style rule. It is high time the rulers realised that this medieval kind of law will not work in the 21st century.

Sir, — George Bush should stop his charade of teaching democracy to the peoples of the world. He has used his power to wreak havoc in many parts of the world.
