Sakthi Auto Components, part of the Sakthi Group, has tied up with IBM to consolidate and strengthen its IT infrastructure. According to a release from IBM, Sakthi Auto has engaged IBM to consolidate their IT infrastructure with System X servers and Storwize V7000 storage solutions to integrate their operation.
Girish Vasudevan, Branch Manager – Chennai, IBM General Business, said as new businesses came in for Sakthi Auto, it needed new applications and servers. IBM started working with the company two months ago. Sakthi was the most recent client from Coimbatore that had tied up with IBM. With the tie-up, Sakthi would enjoy the benefits of superior virtualisation capabilities.
IBM opened a branch office at Coimbatore in June last year to enhance its presence in the region. This was also to enable IBM to be closer to its client base across healthcare, government, banking, textile, engineering and manufacturing segments. IBM was already working with a couple of banks and a large-scale company here.
