Rangasamy's Christmas greetings

Pondicherry Dec. 24. The Chief Minister, N. Rangasamy, today greeted the people on the eve of Christmas. He said ``the occasion gave an opportunity to rededicate ourselves to the principles of unity and harmony and also care for others.''

The Agriculture Minister, A. Namassivayam, the Local Administration Minister, A. Elumalai, the Education Minister, K. Lakshminarayanan, the Health Minister, E .Valsaraj, and the Secretary of the State Committee of the AIADMK and MLA, A. Anbalagan, also greeted the people.

The Archbishop of Pondicherry and Cuddalore, S. Michael Augustine, said Christmas was a celebration of peace and joy. ``We are to carry out the tasks Jesus has placed before us in order to enjoy peace of heart and soul. We must work for peace both individually and as a community. We need to promote fraternal love and national integration, going beyond barriers of caste, creed or colour'', he said.
