Ramadoss meets Barnala

CHENNAI, NOV. 29. The Pattali Makkal Katchi Founder, S. Ramadoss, today called on the Tamil Nadu Governor, S.S. Barnala. The 30-minute meeting was described as a "courtesy call". G.K. Mani, party President and MLA and the Former Union Minister, A.K. Moorthy were also present.

Mr. Ramadoss called upon Other Backward Classes and Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes to put up a united fight to safeguard their rights.

Unveiling a portrait of Periyar E.V. Ramasamy at a function organised this evening by the All-India General Insurance Backward Class Employees Forum, Dr. Ramadoss said that while carrying on their struggle for their rights, associations of the OBCs should join hands with those of the SC/STs.

He said his party would continue its efforts for getting implemented the principle of reservation in promotion and in admission to educational institutions coming under the control of the Central Government such as the Indian Institutes of Technology and the Indian Institutes of Management. He recalled the services of Periyar and the former Chief Minister, Kamaraj for uplifting the weaker sections.
